    Factory established for the manufacture of synthetic resins by Sanyu Kogyo Co., Ltd. (currently Sanyu Industrial Co., Ltd.). Commenced manufacture and sale of Sanyu Resin, an epoxy-based resin.

    Sanyu Resin K.K. established with joint investment (30,000,000 yen) by Sanyu Kogyo Co., Ltd. and Shell Kagaku Co., Ltd. centered on the factory noted above.

    1966

    Benefiting from successive improvement in company results, Sanyu Resin Co.,Ltd. converted to a wholly-owned stock company of Sanyu Kogyo Co. Ltd.

    Capital increased to 60,000,000 yen with investment from SBIC West Japan (Osaka Small and Medium Business Investment and Consultation Co., Ltd.) Expanded manufacturing facilities.

    1973

    Research and development of a urethane resin for electrical insulation applications through a technical cooperation agreement with Conap Inc. of the US. Construction of a powder coating materials factory completed.

  4. 1974

    Formally commenced overseas operations with a technical cooperation agreement with Taiwan Sanyu Resin Co., Ltd.

  5. 1976

    Received funding for technical improvements from MITI (Ministry of International Trade and Industry).

    1984

    Japan Rec Co., Ltd. established with capital (30,000,000 yen) all from Sanyu Kogyo Co., Ltd. Commenced operations on Sanyu Resin Co.,Ltd. site.

  6. 1985

    New equipment purchased and installed with loan from Osaka Advanced Technology Development Fund.

    1987

    Technical agreement with Dong Nam Petroleum Ind Co., Ltd. of South Korea.

  7. 1989

    Employee shareholding association receives SBIC West Japan shares.

    1996

    Sanyu Resin Co., Ltd. establishes fully-owned subsidiary Sanyu Jushi Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia.

  8. 1997

    Agreement signed with Epmar Corporation of the US for consignment processing. ISO-9001 certification acquired.

  9. 1999

    Contracted by Japan Small and Medium Enterprise Corporation for research and development work on new technology responses.

    2000

    ISO-14001 certification acquired.

  10. 2001

    Sanyu Resin Co., Ltd. and Japan Rec Co., Ltd. merged as Sanyu Rec Co., Ltd. with capital of 75,000,000 yen.

    2003

    Fully-owned subsidiary, Shanghai Sanyu Resin Co., Ltd., established in Shanghai, China.
